Which tarot app gives the better reading?

Short answer

Falcı does not do tarot — this page is written by the team that builds Falcı, and this is a subject where we cannot recommend our own app. If you want tarot, in Turkey Binnaz, Faladdin and Kaave offer spreads; in English, Labyrinthos and Golden Thread Tarot lean towards teaching you what the cards mean.

The test that actually helps when choosing: does the reading just repeat the card's name, or does it relate the card to its position in the spread? "Ten of Cups: happiness" is a dictionary line. "The Ten of Cups in the future position, arriving after the Three of Swords in the past position…" is a reading.

Why there is no tarot in Falcı

What Falcı does is built on computation: from your date, time and place of birth it derives a real natal chart through an ephemeris, and in a coffee reading the photograph of the cup is genuinely read. In tarot there is nothing to compute — the cards are drawn at random and all of the value is in the interpretation. Good apps already do that; we could not see a reason to do the same thing once more.

This is not a sentence about tarot being worthless. It is simply work we do not do, and if that is what you are looking for, we are the wrong address.

What to look at when choosing a tarot app

  1. Does it show the spread? Which cards fell into which positions, and what the positions mean — if that is invisible, so is the basis for the reading.
  2. Are there reversals? In classical tarot a reversed card changes the meaning; apps often skip this.
  3. Can you ask a question? A good spread is built around a specific question; a "card of the day" is not tarot, it is a daily message.
  4. Does it teach the card meanings? In the long run that is the feature that makes you independent of the app.
  5. Pricing. Token models are common in tarot; the cost arithmetic works exactly as it does for coffee readings.

Common spreads

SpreadCardsWhat for
Single card1A focus for the day; not for a decision
Past – present – future3How one subject is moving
Situation – obstacle – advice3A concrete stuck point
Celtic cross10A detailed, many-layered reading
Relationship spread5–7Two sides and the dynamic between them

Astrology or tarot

They answer different questions. Astrology reads the chart of the moment you were born; the data is fixed, it is computed, and years later the same data produces the same chart. Tarot looks at the question in front of you now; every spread is singular. "Who am I, what am I inclined towards" belongs to astrology; "what should I do about this right now" belongs to tarot.

If you are on the astrology side, the birth chart apps page will help; if you are on the coffee reading side, the coffee fortune apps page will.
